I wonder if there is any way we could contact the devs. So it looks like we are SoL if we want to use old saved games on the Steam versions. Oh well thanks for trying so hard anyways! The save files are NOT compatible from the wildtangent game to the steam versions.

Originally posted by Kadall:Another update on this.I tried all different ways of getting this to work but what I found is that even though I got the file issue sorted out it won't work. They are obviously different versions and something must have changed in the way the save files are structured that causes the game to hang.Ĭan this be forwarded on to the developers? So, there seems to be a game incompatibility for saved games to cross over between wildtangent games versions and steam versions. 1.39b Fate Steam version can import into 1.12 FateUR Steam version. Importing within the Steam versions works. Tried to do an import from fate steam folder to fateUR steam with your WT version save.

I tried putting that WT save game in Fate steam. Doesn't work and hangs the game on loading.

Steam versions: I tried moving the new FateUR save from your WT install over to steam version. I found that my old save works fine on the 1.23b Fate WT version and can work in in the 1.0.0.422 FateUR WT version.
#FATE WILDTANGENT WIKI FREE#
WildTangent Versions: I installed Fate UR Free version and regular Fate free version from your game client. I tried a few more things but no success: So, if anyone can help, I would be apreciative!Īnother update on this.I tried all different ways of getting this to work but what I found is that even though I got the file issue sorted out it won't work. I would really like to play on the save I've had for like five years and paid 26 dollars for. If I delete it from the folder and reload the game it will come back. If I create a character in the Steam version it will appear in the folder. So I went back to this C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\FateSteam\Persistent\SAVE folder and it was empty. Upon booting the game after this I realized there were no saves. So, upon downloading I navagated to this C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\fate\Persistent\SAVE folder and copied the en-US folder to this C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\FateSteam\Persistent\SAVE folder. (Goodbye $20) I finally broke down and got the Steam version because I knew that there was a way to transfer saves. Recently they updated their drm and I was no longer able to play that version. I downloaded Fate from WildTangent a long time ago. This will bring your character up 1 level, and he or she will be able to move freely again. So, before everyone yells "No duplicate posts!" at me, I have read nearly all of the other discussions about this issue. When you see this question mark, type ASCEND 1 and then hit ENTER.

When in the dungeon, click and hold the CTRL and SHIFT keys, and then press the ~ key, which is located next to the "1" on the top of the keyboard.Ī question mark will appear.

To "unstick" your character, you can use the game's "cheat" function to move him or her up a level in the dungeon. If your character is unable to move, due to obstacles in the dungeon, we can help you out. If you're installing a newer version of Fate in place of your old one, be sure to follow the steps above to put your characters back in the new folder. When you need to restore your characters, follow the steps again to open your Fate folder, and copy the SAVE folder back into it.
